Baby, It’s a Cold Night in December

Here’s a treat. Nothing like a great wah-wah pedal to kick off November. This comes from The American Song-Poem Christmas: Daddy, Is Santa Really Six-Foot Four? It’s a delightfully weird collection of songs you’ve likely never heard. Some fall into the so bad they’re good category. This one might do that. I have no idea who The Sisterhood are, but I love that they embrace every effect we think about when we hear the year 1979 mentioned. And hey, that opening riff is nothing to shrug off. There’s a darkness in those chords. And, like all great songs, there’s despair and misery at the heart of these lyrics. And wah-wah.
